WIP for 11/9/11

It's Wednesday once again, so it's time to take a look at what everyone is working on.  Besides what I have on my needles go and check out what other people are working on over at Tami's Ami's blog.

I am in the final home stretch with my daughter's sweater coat set.  Originally I had only planned on making just the sweater, but it turned out that I had enough yarn to whip out the coordinating hat as well.  Today's task is to sew on the zipper using this awesome zipper tutorial for knitted sweaters.

Last week I cast on a project for me.  I love Harry Potter and anything Potter related, and after seeing the Deathly Hallows Part I movie I just had to have some of the knitwear from the movie.  When Hermione's cardigan was released as a pattern, I knew I just HAD TO make it for me one day.  I am nearly done with the hood, and then it's on to the yoke and fair isle.

I hate to end this on a sad note, but a friend of mine passed away this week and it's all I've been thinking about the past few days.  I was devastated when I heard that he is no longer with us.  He had a huge role in the memories of my college years, and I will always remember the good times I shared with him.  Good night and farewell Jeff, you will be missed.

Much Prayers for you on the loss of a friend. I have always relied on my needles to work busily during life's difficulties. I hope that works for you as well. Your coat is just beautiful!
